THE CASSETTE...
I can remember when I was growing up and there was no such thing as a cd, an ipod was unimaginable!!!
I remember making my own mixes by listening to the radio and "Dubbing" what was played- running in the house to record the most popular songs of that time when I heard a car drive by playing one of them!!!
Some may not relate to this post but I felt that it was time for someone to pay Homage to the cassette...

My FIRST official MIXTAPE - "Welcome To The AYE"
This whole idea stems from a brief trip to Atlanta, GA. It came to me while I was being entertained at Magic City. It’s known that ATL is home of some of the best down south or atleast the hub for the most well known music of its genre. One of the primary concerns of the North is the lack of down south music that funnels up to the north. To give you an example of what I mean…I had a conversation with the DJ of Strokers and explained that “No Hands/Make it Rain” are the current hits in Philly/NY etc…and he laughed because it is considered old. So in an attempt to reduce the lag time that exists with music migrating north I have compiled a mixtape of all down south bangers. Some are easier to warm up to then others but in either case its music that is all inspired by the ATL nightlife. I call it "Welcome To The AYE" hosted by DjAYEboogie.

ABSTRACT ALBUM REVIEWS/ DOPE-EST ALBUM of 2010!!!
Two nights ago while on our way to an event JPayne and I were asked what we thought of Kanye's Latest album. Of course we said that it was awesome work. The question that proceeded was "Would you give it rap album of the year?" Our response: "NO!!! LOL"
It was ironic that J and I were in complete accord when we both said that J. Cole had the Dope-est rap album of the year with his mixtape 'Friday Night Lights", especially when in this day and age mixtapes and albums are synonymous!
When I take into consideration everything that I have seen in hip hop, the definition of what it is to truly be among the hottest, and what this guy is bringing to the table... He is hands down the DOPE-EST!!!
Things an Mc must have to be considered amongst the greats: Lyrical content, iLL delivery, punch lines, ability to tell a story so vivid that the listener feels as though he/she were there, creativity etc... Most people dont know that Cole does his own production as well!
When I was growing up Nas was the mc that I placed my allegiance with. If I were a middle school kid growing up in this day and age I would have to say that J. Cole was the Hottest Rapper!!! I mean dont get me wrong; Drake is definitely a problem, but in comparison Drake would be Jay-z and Cole would be Nas!!! Jay-z is the Limelight and Nas is the Hip-Hop!!!

The Award for ABSTRACT ARTIST of 2010 goes to J. COLE!!! Hands down the DOPE-EST!!! (and we should know because we are the DOPE-EST as well!!!)
